This article is primarily to advocate for a role as Team Lead in Unreal Development. I'm going to present this article through a series of questions to fully cover this topic.
What is my primary Unreal Engine version that I use?
Unreal Engine 4 since this version has been out for years there's also more documentation on this version currently.
Could I use Unreal Engine 5 ?
In theory yes since I used the previous Unreal Engine versions however I'm less familiar with the new software features.
Why would I be a good Team Lead for a project using Unreal Engine 5?
Besides knowing Unreal Engine 4 I also have contacts who know Unreal Engine 5 If I'm Team Lead I can hire someone to manage the Unreal Engine 5 aspects and make sure the requirements for the project are met. I also have a game engine discovery contact so with a budget I can get full documentation made on Unreal Engine 5 and get all the tasks and requirements broken down from there.
What is my knowledge concerning NPC development?
This isn't a field I often work with but I know you need an AI engine in order to have NPCs I could pay for a code fix on a previous released AI engine I work with and get the code migrated to Unreal Engine 5 if needed.
However the more stable decision as a Team Lead would be to hire an AI programmer as well who also knows Unreal Engine 5
Core Reasons I'm a solid choice for Team Lead on an Unreal Engine project
- I have good Unreal Engine 5 contacts that can be hired for this type of project
-I have good contacts for Game Engine discovery which they can create full blown documentation for Unreal Engine 5 if needed for use allowing me to update my knowledge base to Unreal Engine 5 if needed.
-I have been Team Lead multiple times and have 14 years in development experience that directly relates to working in Unreal Engine development.
