Consumer Base in the Games Business

In the world of Technology Games has grown as a business over the years from the early days of computer games to the now days of Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo.

Currently the consumer base for games in today's age is only classified as almost 1 consumer base "Gamer" and those who classify as such.

However if you have interest in a particular game or just because you played a considerable amount of games does that automatically make you a "Gamer"?

I don't think so as their are plenty reasons to be considered a "Non Gamer" despite having interest in a particular game or having played a considerable amount of games.

What is a "Non Gamer"? in essence this can mean a variety of things it could be what you classify yourself as according to your involvement with games.

However a historical proof that there is a high variety that can be classified under the "Non-Gamer" category is gaming from the early 90's to 2000's as games were made towards the audience of the "General Public" during these times. In this age of gaming the title "Gamer" hardly existed as nearly anyone with interest in a particular game often played games as a consumer during these times could have been your local barber, a local family, even someone in the sports world completely unrelated to games.

There are plenty games from this era that support this proof from game series such as "Twisted Metal" to games like the "GuitarHero" series as various games had the interest of the general public and during this time was seen as a known pastime to the general public when a workday was done or even a good time to spend with friends, family, or anyone with interest even a high variety of sport players could be involved with games or actors could have games of their own.

In general there is more to the consumer base than just "Gamer" as their are plenty of people that can classify under the title of "Non-Gamer" and various others.

In the Games Business the consumer base of choice is yours.
